Welcome to CRA

Colchester Radio Amateurs has a long history of supporting radio amateurs in North East Essex since 1963.   Since then the range of activities has changed and expanded.  In addition to our monthly meetings, we also:


Participate in contests including HF & VHF with our VHF Contest Group participating in all the major RSGB contests from their Contest site at Walton On The Naze.
Offer training for Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced Licences.
Produce a monthly newsletter CRA News which is available to view or download from this website and is also free to non members . Please see our Newsletter page for more info.

INTER CLUB QUIZ.
Thursday 25th April 2019.
Can you be part of a winning team? 
CRA won last year but can they retain it? Will HARIG regain it?

Come along to the club this month and be part of the team or a supporter to see how many questions YOU can get right.

Doors open normal time.
Refreshments available.

Teams of 4 will be needed to compete on a level playing field.

Each team will need to nominate one person to answer.

There will be a 10 minute break at the half way point for comfort break and topping up drinks.

Quiz will commence at 8pm sharp

Tea, coffee & biscuits will be available through the evening.

On the heels of last years Football World Cup Radio Event,  RSGB are coordinating this years event for the cricket world cup.
Our club is participating in this event and we are looking for operators who could use our allocated callsign during the event.

AFS CHAMPIONSHIP

   Following the publication of the DATA  results CRA are currently one place up on last years 10th in the AFS championship, no mean feat for a club of our size. 
Good to see enough taking part in the SSB section to make up two teams,now waiting adjudication.

 2019 MORE Training Success.
CONGRATULATIONS
To all six intermediate candidates who sat their exam last night and passed. One with 100% and the other 5 with high pass marks.
Another success for the CRA Intermediate Fast Track training and boot camp.

Well done everyone concerned.

The first 2019 Fast Track Foundation training session held on Saturday 23rd February proved a high with all seven candidates passing. Average scores were again high with two candidates achieving 100%.
We also had our first Intermediate success of 2019, again with a high percentage pass.

 WELL DONE TO EVERYONE.
